What is IWiM?

International Women in Mining (IWiM) is a volunteer-led international organisation committed to advancing women in the mining sector. It is the global voice of women in mining, and supports its members on gender diversity and inclusion across the industry.

For more than 10 years IWiM has driven a global agenda for women in mining, and for the associations and related sectors around it.

In doing so it has become the largest and most representative community of women in mining in the world, with over 10,000 members from more than 100 countries and 40 WIM groups worldwide.

IWiM supports women across the whole of the sector alike — those working in artisanal mining and those in large-scale industry, government bodies, sector institutions and civil society organisations.

WIM Argentina

WIM Argentina is the national chapter of International Women in Mining and a leading voice for the role of women as a driving force in mining today and in the future. Through the participation of professionals and leaders across the sector, WIM Argentina is a platform for policies and actions that advance equity and equal opportunity within the industry.

Since 2010 — initially through the Foundation for the Development of Argentine Mining (FUNDAMIN) — hundreds of women have found places to meet and tools for their professional growth, working alongside mining companies, governments and civil society organisations to ease their entry into the workforce and build more equitable mining ecosystems.

WIM Argentina is a non-profit that brings together and supports women in mining. It works to connect the Argentine and global mining industries through collaborative strategies and action, guided by one firm conviction: a more efficient and more sustainable mining industry needs more women taking part and making decisions at every level of the sector.
